Youth Sunday School

Youth Sunday School focuses on providing Christian education for students in grades five through twelve.

At a formative stage of life, it’s important to have real conversations about how God works in our lives, and establish friendship and trust while engaging in scripture and Lutheran doctrine.

Grades 5 & 6

For fifth and sixth graders, we have two year curriculum studying scripture, church history and religious traditions. Using videos, music, crafts, games and discussion, students will gain a deeper understanding of their faith and build Christian relationships with each other.

Grades 7 & 8

For seventh and eighth graders, we focuse on pre-confirmation subjects: the Ten Commandments, the Church, the life of Jesus, the Sacraments, and church history. Youth in are expected to attend Sunday School and worship, and participate in the life of the church through assisting in worship, music ministry, outreach activities, fellowship events and youth events, as requirements for confirmation.

Our ninth graders prepare for the Rite of Confirmation each May in this class led by Pastor Craig Ross and Joe Geesey. Students study Luther’s Small Catechism, the Bible, and the teachings of the Lutheran faith. After completing the class requirements, our confirmands publicly affirm their faith at our Confirmation service.
