We snicker at James and John for wanting to sit to the right and left of Jesus’ in the Kingdom of God. It seems immature and selfish … like children who form a secret club, so that they can exercise authority over others. The community into which Jesus invites us is much larger and healthier, and the only qualification is our need for Jesus to save us.
