Weekly Update for April 21

Hi Folks.  Here are some news items for the coming week including a virtual town hall, an update from our council president, Live-stream and Drive-in worship, a postal mail update, and some small group gatherings.

Pub Theology is meeting tonight at 6:30pm. We have moved our meeting to Shirley Dombach’s farm, due to the large number of participants this month.  Bring your chair, dinner and a beverage to the farm at 6:30 p.m. and we will eat and discuss.  Contact Sister Dottie (dottie.almoney@stpeterslutheran.org) with questions.

With the Mission Campaign launched in our congregational life, we want to give you a chance to hear more about it.  So please mark your calendars for Sunday, May 2 for our Mission Campaign Virtual Town Hall at 9:15 a.m.  Watch for the link to the meeting that will be shared through our usual St. Peter’s communication platforms.  The Musser’s will be with us, and Richie will present updated information on the Campaign, along with co-chairs Jennifer Schlener-Thomas and Adrian Young.  Please also watch your postal mail for paper communications about the appeal or visit the mission campaign webpage.

This Sunday, April 25, we will worship in the sanctuary via Live-stream at our usual time of 10:45 a.m. at  https://www.stpeterslutheran.org/live.   We continue our celebration of the Easter season with the familiar “Good Shepherd” teaching of Jesus. We hope you will join us as we continue to celebrate the empty tomb of resurrection.

This Sunday, we will also continue our 9:15 am Drive-In worship service. No need to RSVP, just show up! Hymns, liturgy, and preaching will all be brought to you through your radio by tuning into FM 107.1. Communion will be offered at this service using Fellowship cups.

Join us on April 22nd, 8:00 p.m. for this month’s Beverages and Hymns. Settle in with your favorite beverage, a hymnal, and your singing voice for some music and fellowship. This month we’ll be looking at some of the songs that can be found in a new hymnal supplement, All Creation Sings, and what it has to offer. Contact Adam at adam.hughes@stpeterslutheran.org for more info.

Please be aware that we are in the process of restarting mail delivery directly to the church building.  We have staff coverage of the office through the mid-late afternoon, and our postal carrier is returning to a mid-afternoon delivery schedule which allows us to get the mail immediately upon delivery. You may now return to using our preferred use of address, which is: St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 10 Delp Road, Lancaster, PA  17601.  Thank you for your assistance in helping us keep our mail delivery safe and secure in recent months.
