Weekly Update for November 4

St. Peter's Lutheran Church

Hi Folks.  Here is some news for the week!

THIS SUNDAY (November 8) is our Annual Meeting – Online Version!  Those who participated in the October 25th online congregational meeting did a great job.  Let’s have all of you back, and lots of new participants, too.  We need you to make quorum that allows us to have the meeting. Click on the button below to register for the meeting!

Annual Meeting Documents

Be informed before the meeting by reviewing the annual meeting documents today. Being online for the meeting is a bit different, but the content of the meeting is typical for most years … we will pass a congregational budget, elect officers and new Council members, receive an update on the Endowment, and hear a few reports.    You can access reports and staff/leader videos on our Annual Meeting web page https://www.stpeterslutheran.org/annual-meeting/.   You will receive access to 2021 budget documents when you register, so please register today!

Next Sunday, November 15th at 8 a.m. we will host our first in-person worship service in the sanctuary.  The service will be brief (30 minutes) with traditional liturgy, communion using the fellowship cups we use at drive-in worship, some liturgy and a sermon.  There will be no sung music.

Please Note:
  1. You will need to call (717-569-9211) in a reservation to assure a spot in the pews for worship;
  2. You will be assigned a location in the sanctuary, so that we can insure proper social distancing;
  3. If you regularly worship with a friend who is not family, please call in your reservation together so that you will be seated together.

Remember, we will have people attending this service from all three of our worship venues, so be understanding when you are not assigned to “your pew.”

This Sunday we will be worship in the sanctuary via Live-stream at our usual time of 10:45 a.m. at  https://www.stpeterslutheran.org/live.   You’re already planning to come to the Annual Meeting, so just click out of GoToMeeting and click into St. Peter’s Live Stream.  Our Drive-In worship continues at 4pm with liturgy and Holy Communion, too. If attending the drive-in, please call the church office (717-569-9211) with a head count of how many will be in your car, so we can make sure to have enough communion elements and bulletins for everyone.

God’s Peace,

Your Church Staff

The vibrancy of life here at St. Peter’s makes my service on our staff a joy and privilege. Visitation, teaching and preaching are the ministries that feed my pastoral identity, as together our staff and lay members share in our missional calling … Building a community of faith by God’s grace.

One comment

  1. It would seem to me to be the respectful thing to do to see who the nominating committee offered as council members and who has been asked to serve as officers BEFORE the meeting. Also, it is hard to vote on a budget when one does not have the benefit of knowing how we have fared vs. budget year-to-date (the last 10 months). Thank you.
