Weekly Update for September 9

Sarah Teichmann

Hi Folks – here is this week’s Wednesday update on news from St. Peter’s.

Fall Christian Education Starts THIS Sunday!— Our Sunday morning Christian Education classes begin this Sunday (September 13) There will be a session for children in Pre-K thru 4th grade on our livestream at 10:20 am before our livestream worship service begins.  Youth in grades 5-8 will have 2 choices in which to meet at 9:15 am – through zoom with Sr. Dottie/Molly Olmsted or at the home of Joy and Lyle Hosler.  9th grade confirmation will zoom with Pastor Ross and grades 10-12 will zoom with Jim Moshos and Doug May. We will offer an adult class on Sunday morning at 9:15 am through zoom as well.  Check out the links below for each of the three sessions:

Sunday Worship – join us for live-streaming worship on Sunday morning at 10:45 a.m. by following this link – https://www.stpeterslutheran.org/live.  We continue to enhance our worship experience with parts of the service being led from various places in the sanctuary and chancel, including the altar, organ and piano.  Or you can join us in person for Parking Lot Worship at 6:30 p.m.  A simple celebration of Holy Communion is offered along with a sermon, brief liturgy and a bit of music.  You do not need reservations, but if you would call the Church Office to let us know you are coming, we can be prepared with bulletins and communion elements.

Inclement Weather – if you are planning to attend Parking Lot Worship, and weather is questionable, please visit the  church website https://www.stpeterslutheran.org  around 4:00 PM for an update on whether the service will be held or cancelled for the evening.

Preschool Update – Although church and preschool leaders made the wise decision to suspend in-person classes through January 2021, the staff is still hard at work.  Starting this week, they will begin offering twice-a-week digital on-line preschool learning activities to our preschool families, so that our parents can enjoy some developmental activities, in lieu of in-class programs.

Stewardship Update – As we finish up our summer months, we are a bit behind in our projected offerings through August – we are at 98% of our projected offering income.  But that is not unusual for this time of the year.  As fall programs begin, we expect that offerings will be revitalized.  Our Stewardship team extends their thanks to you for your faithful giving and support thus far, including our last six-months in the Covid-19 Virus world.  Your gifts enable us to continue existing ministries and begin new ones.

God’s Peace,

Your Church Staff
