Youth Ministry News for October – November 2018

There will be several youth activities (grades 5-12)for the months of October and November 2018.  Information can also be found on the youth board in the youth lounge.

October Events

October 7 – Combined youth meeting here at St. Peter’s with Zion Lutheran Church in Landisville.  We will be discussing the different “privileges” that we all have and may not be aware of.  We will meet from 6-8 in the cafe/Family Life Center.  A make your own sub dinner will begin the meeting – sign up at the sign up genius site:

October 13th -Youth from grades 9- 12 are invited to attend the AMMPARO (accompanying migrant minors with Protection, Advocacy, Representation and Opportunities) workshop from 10:00 – 2:00 pm here at St. Peter’s.  The simulation on Refugees from the National Youth gathering will be available and we will learn more from the ELCA Washington office for Advocacy.  Lunch is included – RSVP to Sister Dottie at

October 28th – Family Halloween Party – 5:30 – 7:30 pm.  Youth are wanted to dress up and help with the various activities for  our younger children.  Dinner will be provided.  RSVP to Sister Dottie or sign up at the following site:

November Events

November 4th – Day of the Dead Party at Zion Lutheran in Landisville

6:00 – 8:00 pm – for youth in grades 5-12 – parents needed to help chaperone and drive.

November 11th – Annual Meeting Sunday – Sunday School will take place from 10:30 – 12:00 pm – youth in grades 5-12 will meet in the youth lounge for a movie or group activity

November 18th – Youth Sponsored Young Parent’s Dinner – we will have dinner and activities for children of young parents.  Parents will eat and have a discussion in the Family Life Center and we will provide dinner and activities for the kids in Augsburg Alley and other classrooms.  Time will be 5:00 – 7:00 pm

November 25th – Dinner Theater Play Practice – 6:00 – 7:30 pm – FLC

Our youth grow into faithful disciples through education, fellowship and service. I am also excited about the new social ministries in which we are partnering with other Manheim Township churches, such as Lydia’s Closet and Homes for Hope.
