Pentecost 17 Preview

Today’s Gospel  Lesson in Luke 15:1-10, lifts up Jesus’ concern for those  who the world sometimes forgets about.

Just so, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.’

–Luke 15:10

People who live at the fringes of society are sometimes are easily overlooked.  But  God never forgets about any who are “lost” in live or in the wildernesses of their minds and hearts.  Our Hymn of the Day, “Savior Like a Shepherd lead us” reminds us that ….

We are yours; in love befriend us, be the guardian of our way;  keep your flock, from sin defend us, seek us when we go astray.

Preaching Question

Do You Know a Lost Cause?

Other Questions to Reflect On

Do you ever feel like a lost sheep or coin … or person?

What is your experience of being “found?”

Do you know people of whom you might say, “such a lost soul”?

Are there moments in your life when you feel that God “found” you?
