New Day Music in August

This month at New Day we’re singing some great songs! Our musicians met last week to plan out our music for the coming month, and I thought I’d share some of my favorites with you.

August Music Selections

We choose pieces that speak to the biblical themes for each week, and are easy for anyone to sing. Here are a few selections from this month.

Whom Shall I Fear?

On August 7, we’ll sing Whom Shall I Fear (God of Angel Armies) by Chris Tomlin and Ed Cash. Our scripture for the week encourages us not to be afraid, and this song has the same message. Don’t be afraid — we will sing it a little lower than Tomlin’s (in)famous stratospheric tenor!

God of Wonders

For our closing on August 14, we’ll revisit God of Wonders by Marc Byrd and Steve Hindalong. If you were with us on July 3, you heard this one as special music during the offering, but we haven’t sung it as a congregation since May last year. We sing this as a song of praise and sending.

Our Love is Loud

On August 28 we celebrate a kingdom of God that lifts the lowly, where all have a place at the table. Our Love is Loud by the David Crowder Band is our shout of thanks to God!

Come and Worship

Come sing these songs and more with us at New Day! And don’t forget to stop by next month for a sneak peek at more upcoming music!

Contemporary Worship Leader

I’ve been leading music in worship since 2001, and I love to work with others to offer up our musical gifts to God. When I’m not playing guitar and most anything with strings, I build websites and help nonprofits tell their stories.
